Meran: between spa and palms

Snow-covered mountains and blooming gardens, Mediterranean climate and Tyrolean tradition, elegant fashion boutiques and down-home inns… Hardly another town in South Tyrol unites contrasts in such a harmonious way.

In every season the spa town comes up with specifics and highlights and therefore a holiday in Meran in South Tyrol is always recommendable.

Due to the sheltered location the second largest city in South Tyrol comes out very early from hibernation. With the warm shafts of sunlight the gardens of Trauttmansdorff and the flowers and trees along the promenades are in full bloom. Moreover, spring in Meran is full of sporting events such as horse-racings and marathons.

The summer months are especially marked by music and culture – for example open air concerts, music weeks and garden nights, while in autumn you shouldn’t miss grape and wine festivals and the popular harvest tradition called “Törggelen”.

In winter finally you can enjoy the slopes and ski lifts of Meran 2000, the atmospheric Christmas market and the wonderful thermal baths. Such a variety is offered only by a holiday in Meran in South Tyrol!
