Schenna: jewel near Meran

Picturesque. Just picturesque. One word is enough to describe the village above Meran in its main features. If you rather want to know more about it, you should see it with your own eyes during – during a holiday in Schenna in South Tyrol.

And the 48 square kilometers large municipality offers a very vast range. For instance the enchanting town center, which is marked by a castle, several churches and an impressing mausoleum.

The natural landscape all around is not less attractive. Sunny cypress gardens and palm groves, fruit orchards and vineyards invite to make a walk. Almost endless hiking trails lead along ancient irrigation channels or even to the summits of the local mountains Hirzer and Ifinger.

Every district of the village – Verdins, St. Georgen, Schennaberg, Videgg, Unterstall and Oberstall – comes up with its specialties. Combined with a very enjoyable climate and first-class offers made by local restaurants and inns, Schenna is a small holiday paradise. In short: a holiday in Schenna in South Tyrol is always worthwhile.
