Holiday in Italy is primarily associated with summer, beach and sea. Nonetheless the country has also a very attractive winter-white side with perfectly groomed ski runs for all levels of difficulty, modern lift facilities and rustic ski huts.

It is obvious that the bigger part of the Italian skiing regions are located in the mountainous north, thus in the regions South Tyrol, Trentino, Venetia, Lombardy, Aosta Valley and Piedmont. For instance Courmayeur, Bormio or Sestrière are well-known venues for the international ski circuit.

Large ski carousels such as Dolomiti Superski or Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta attract with endless ski trails, while smaller ski-regions offer pleasant skiing fun for the whole family.

However skiing in Italy isn’t possible only in the outermost north. Even some other areas, where you wouldn’t expect it, offer interesting ski slopes: for example Monte Bondone and Monte Baldo next to Lake Garda, Roccaraso or the high plateau Campo Imperatore in the Abruzzi or even on the hillsides of the volcano Mount Etna.

Whether north or south, beginner or pro, unhurried skiers or mogul piste lovers, free riders or snowboarders, in the skiing regions in Italy anybody will find his favorite slope. Rustic ski huts and modern winter palaces, professional ski schools and funny après-ski complete the offer.
