Verona: 2000 years of history
Verona is like Venice, Florence and Rome, one of major Italian city, known throughout the world and visited by millions of tourists every year.
Even just walking through the streets of the city you can admire the historical buildings, churches and monuments that tell the history and vicissitudes of Verona. The city has developed very complex, but the Roman part of the city and the modern city are well bounded by two massive masonry: on one hand the Roman walls that surround the heart City, the other with the so-called inner ring forts Renaissance.
In the center stands the red brick of the beautiful Gothic buildings, the white marble of the palaces and piazzas, such as, Piazza delle Erbe.
Not to be missed is the famous balcony of Juliet and her statue and the Romeo's house, as well as the beautiful Arena of Verona, a Roman amphitheater, located in the center, where still today are staged operas, concerts and theater performances.
Finally, also worth a visit Castelvecchio and its magnificent fortified bridge. Consists of three arches, the bridge has survived five centuries, until the Germans destroyed it in 1945. In 1951, the bridge returned to its original splendor, while the Castle is now home of the Museo Civico.
